Bonner Kunstverein announces its annual sale of Jahresgaben with contributions from 16 artists including paintings, drawings, photographs, sculptures and prints. The sale begins with a special programme of talks by local artists, curators, collectors and critics who will introduce the works, giving insight to the artists’ wider practice. This year’s sale features unique works by Ella Kruglyanskaya (b. 1978, Riga), Oliver Osborne (b. 1985, Edinburgh) and Hayley Tompkins  (b. 1971, Leighton Buzzard) all of whom had solo exhibitions at the Kunstverein this year. Other unique works are donated by Carolin Eidner (b. 1984, Berlin), Megan Rooney (b. 1985, Toronto) and Valerie Häußler  (b. 1983, Herdecke) from the Kunstverein’s Atelierhaus. Sarah Kürten (b. 1983, Cologne) and Tobias Hohn (b. 1991, Prüm)and Stanton Taylor (b. 1990 Port of Spain), recipients of our Peter Mertes Stipendium in 2017 have produced new editions especially for the Kunstverein. Guan Xiao (b. 1983, Chongqing) whose exhibition at the Kunstverein will open in February 2019 has produced a small edition of sculptures. We also have Jahresgaben from Mark Leckey (b. 1964, Birkenhead), Yuri Pattison (b. 1986, Dublin) and Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven (b. 1951, Antwerp) whose works were exhibited in our exhibition, The Policeman’s Beard is Half Constructed: Art in the Age of Artificial Intelligence last year. Other donations come from Lilah Fowler (b. 1981, London), GCC (founded 2013), Maria Loboda  (b. 1979, Krakow) and Martin Pfeifle (b. 1975 Stuttgart). Almost half of the artists this year have recently exhibited at the Kunstverein or feature in our forthcoming programme. Several others have had held solo exhibitions in Bonn in the last year. One quarter of the artists live in the region of North Rhine Westphalia.
