Christoph Keller: Beyond Kiosk - Modes of Multiplication

April 5 – June 1, 2008

The newly renovated entrance area of the Bonner Kunstverein with its kiosk will in future be a platform for presentations of book projects. This series begins with an archive project by Christoph Keller (book designer, editor, publisher, including Revolver, Christoph Keller Editions, JRP/Ringier), which was developed for the Bonner Kunstverein and the ICA Philadelphia. The presentation Beyond Kiosk - Modes of Multiplication is based on Keller's extensive archive "Kiosk" on the subject of "Independent Art Publishing", which has travelled the world over the past seven years and has been exhibited in over 20 institutions. From around 6,500 publications from over 450 publishing and magazine projects in the archive, around 500 of the most interesting publication models were selected for the presentation at the Bonner Kunstverein, providing a wide-ranging overview and presenting the most inspiring projects. The focus is not on individual artists' publications, but on the strategies, motivations, programmes and profiles of the editors and publishers.
