David Ostrowski's painting revolves around the idea of zero point - a place of nothingness, beyond cultural and painterly codes. Using unconventional materials and techniques such as spray paint and scraps of paper, Ostrowski's annual edition, which is part of his long-running 'F' series, incorporates gestures of deliberate flawedness in order to undermine the usual criteria for adding value to art. David Ostrowski (b. 1981, Cologne) has had solo and group exhibitions at the Avant-Garde Institute, Warsaw (2020); Sundogs, Paris (2019); Leopold-Hoesch-Museum, Düren (2016); ARKEN Museum of Modern Art, Copenhagen (2015) and Institute of Contemporary Arts, London (2014), among others. He lives and works in Cologne.
