Hershman Leeson’s 'Phantom Limbs' series investigates the relationship between human bodies and technology. The digital prints depict female cyborgs that often have their heads replaced with cameras or screens. Lynn Hershman Leeson (b. 1941, Cleveland) has recently held recent solo exhibitions at the Cleveland Museum of Art; Lehmbruck Museum, Duisburg (both 2016); Modern Art Oxford and ZKM, Karlsruhe (all 2015). Her work is held in major public collections including San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; Tate, London; the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis; Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art, New York. She lives and works in San Francisco.
