Executive Jewellers ‘Mars Local Solar Time’ Watch, melatonin, custom display, solar turntable

Unique work, with certificate

‘Yestersol’ incorporates a wristwatch developed to indicate the time on Mars. The work refers to what Pattison has described as ‘colonial tendancies’ in the technology industry, alluding to a small community of engineers and scientists who work on ‘Mars time’ where days are 39 minutes longer than on Earth. Yuri Pattison (b. 1986, Dublin) has held solo exhibitions at Kunsthalle St. Gallen (2017) and the Chisenhale Gallery, London (2016). His work has also been exhibited at the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin; ZKM, Karlsruhe (2017); the International Center of Photography, New York; the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, Edinburgh (2016); Bielefelder Kunsterverein; Kunstverein Nürnberg; Ashkal Alwan, Beirut; Künstlerhaus Bremen; Tate Britain, London; Bologna Museum of Modern Art; Kunsthalle Wien, Vienna and the Museum of Modern Art, Warsaw (2015).
