Temperatures is a cooperative year-long program of events including talks, readings, concerts, and performances expanding the digital space within the existing infrastructures of the three institutions.
The seventh event, Risk of the Caring Kind, on Thursday, 27 January 2022, 7 pm CET, takes the form of a lecture by Adam Hines-Green, artist, writer, and doctor working in psychiatry for the NHS in London.
This talk will address the central importance of risk assessment and management in contemporary mental health care. It will consider the form of the individual subject implied by a focus on risk, to include both patients and professional practitioners such as psychiatrists. Touching on historical precedents, professional guidelines, and personal experience, it will ultimately ask how consideration of risk impacts on notions of care and responsibility in psychiatric services.
The lecture will be in English; it is accessible for free without registration via the following link: us02web.zoom.us/j/81026567676
