Salon Roberta was founded in 2020 by Antonia Nolte—specialist physician and head of the Section for Phoniatrics and Paedaudiology at the University Hospital Bonn, collector, and board member of Bonner Kunstverein—and has, in a short time, established itself as a significant initiative for supporting young artists in the Rhineland. What began as a private collection developed into a space committed to support and exchange: Nolte opens her apartment as Salon Roberta, creating a site where young artists can present their work for a year at a time and enter into a direct, intimate dialogue with an engaged audience.

Salon Roberta is currently presenting works by Keta Gavasheli, born in Tbilisi in 1990, who now lives in Düsseldorf and is at present a recipient of the Peter Mertes Scholarship. Gavasheli’s practice moves between installation, sculpture, performance, and film, exploring questions of materiality, memory, and spatial perception. In often poetically condensed scenarios, she combines fragile structures with a precise sensitivity to atmospheric and social tensions.

As part of the visit, Antonia Nolte and Keta Gavasheli will offer a personal introduction to the exhibition as well as to the idea of Salon Roberta as a place situated between private space, collection, and public encounter.
