The collage created in collaboration between Louisa Clement and Georg Herold juxtaposes two different representations of the body and combines excerpts from the works of both artists. While flowing curves contrast with sharp-edged contours, both figures share a shiny, industrial materiality that addresses the artificial presence in the human on the one hand and the human presence in the artificial on the other. Louisa Clement (b. 1987, Bonn) has had solo exhibitions at Eigen + Art Lab, Berlin (2020); Ludwig Forum Aachen; Sprengel Museum Hannover (2019); Kunst Raum Riehen, Basel (2018) and Schmela Haus, Kunstsammlung NRW, Düsseldorf (2014). Her work was also part of the 6th Marrakech Biennale (2016). Clement lives and works in Bonn. Georg Herold (born 1947, Jena) has had solo exhibitions at the following institutions, among others: Kunstmuseum Bonn (2017); Dallas Contemporary Art Museum (2013); Museum Brandhorst, Munich (2012); Museum Ludwig, Cologne (2007); Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden and Kunstverein Hannover (2005). He was also represented with his work at documenta IX (1992) and Skulptur Projekte Münster (1997). Herold lives and works in Cologne.
