Jeremy Deller’s Jahresgaben pay tribute to three recently deceased musicians. David Bowie -who also featured prominently within Deller’s exhibition ‘English Magic’ at the British Pavilion during the Venice Biennale in 2015 - and two members of the experimental, Cologne-based rock band, Can; drummer,  Jaki Liebzeit and bass guitarist Holger Czukay. Jeremy Deller (b. 1966, London) has held solo exhibitions at Museum of Contemporary Art, Cleveland (2017); Brooklyn Museum, New York; Hayward Gallery, London; Wiels, Brussels; ICA, Philadelphia; Contemporary Art Museum, St. Louis (2012); Hammer Museum, Los Angeles (2009); Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2006). Deller represented Great Britain in the British Pavillon at the 55th Venice Biennale (2013) and was awarded the Turner Prize in 2004. His documentary films include ‘Our Hobby is Depeche Mode’ (2006, with Nick Abrahams). His work is held in major public collections including Centre Pompidou, Paris; Tate, London and the Victoria and Albert Museum London. He lives and works in London.
