Richard Deacon’s portfolio of prints, produced in Cologne in 2014, was inspired by a walking trip in the mountainous landscape of the Indian region of Ladakh which the artist made in the same year. Richard Deacon (b. 1949, Bangor) has held solo exhibitions at Middelheim Museum, Antwerp; San Diego Museum of Art (2017); Museum Folkwang, Essen; Langen Foundation, Neuss (2016); Kunstmuseum Winterthur (2015); Tate Britain, London (2014); Sprengel Museum, Hanover (2011); Musée d'Art Moderne et Contemporain, Strasbourg (2010); Stedelijk Museum, 's Hertogenbosch (2008); Ikon Gallery, Birmingham (2007); Tate St Ives; Arp Museum Bahnhof Rolandseck, Remagen (2005); Museum Ludwig, Cologne (2003); Tate Britain, London; MoMA PS1, New York (2001); Serpentine Gallery, London (1997 and 1985); Museo de Arte Contemporaneo de Caracas (1996); Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris (1989); Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (1988) and Tate Gallery, London (1985). He represented Wales at 52nd Venice Biennale (2007) and was awarded the Turner Prize in 1987. Deacon’s work is held in numerous public collections including Centre Pompidou, Paris; Museum of Modern Art, New York and Tate Collection, London. He lives and works in London and Cologne.
