Magdalena Los' collaged visual worlds are based on digital painting, which at first stands for an unlimited space of possibilities: With the help of the iPad and various image editing programmes, the artist shifts her studio to an infinitely scalable sphere, which can be zoomed in or out at will. For the series, Magdalena und der große Kunstverein, Los uses the  images in such a way that they create fragmented views of the large exhibition hall of the Bonner Kunstverein. In this way, she appropriates the space without actually exhibiting in it. Magdalena Los (b. 1987, Jastrzębie-Zdrój, PL) received the Peter Mertes Stipendium 2020. Her work has been exhibited at Bonner Kunstverein (2021); PiK, Cologne; Klosterruine, Berlin; Falckenberg Collection, Hamburg (all 2020) and Kunstverein Harburger Bahnhof (2019). Los lives and works in Cologne.
