Tee’s cast, dome-shaped ceramics are inspired by the history of late 19 century and early 20 century abstraction and more specifically the spiritual and scientific theories embodied in the work of artists such as Hilma af Klint and Wassily Kandinsky. Jennifer Tee (b. 1973, Arnhem) has held solo exhibitions at Camden Arts Centre, London; Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam (2017); CoBrA Museum, Amstelveen (2016); Kunsthal  Charlottenborg, Copenhagen (2014); Project Art Centre Gallery, Dublin (2013) and Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven (2003): Her work has been presented at Manifesta 11, Zurich (2016) as well as in exhibitions at Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam (2012 and 2000); Schirn Kunsthalle, Frankfurt (2011) and the São Paulo Biennale (2004). She will have a solo exhibition at Bonner Kunstverein in December 2017. Tee lives and works in Amsterdam.
