Mark Leckey has an ongoing fascination with the affective power of images, music and technology, and often uses reconfigured archival footage in his work. ‘Three Letter Threnody’, is an alphabet of logos representing products, companies and organisations that date from the latter part of the 20th century and no longer exist. Mark Leckey (b. 1964, Birkenhead) has held solo exhibitions at the Statens Museum for Kunst, Copenhagen (2017); MoMA PS1, New York; (2016); Secession, Vienna; Haus der Kunst, Munich; Kunsthalle Basel (2015); Wiels, Brussels (2014); the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; (2013); Banff Centre (2012); the Serpentine Gallery, London (2011); ICA, London (2009); the Guggenheim Museum, New York; Kölnischer Kunstverein, Cologne (2008); Le Consortium, Dijon (2007) and Portikus, Frankfurt (2005).
