These drawings of humanoid robots, cyborgs or warriors reflect Aten’s interest in Technoculture, Afrofuturism and science fiction. Israel Aten (b. 1986, Detroit) has held solo exhibitions at Bonner Kunstverein (2017) and Westfälischer Kunstverein, Münster (2016). He was awarded Bonner Kunstverein’s Peter Mertes Stipendium in 2016. He lives and works in Düsseldorf.
