Grace Weaver’s figurative paintings combine art historical influences with familiar and present motifs and issues: from smartphone use and health crazes to gender relations. With a sensitive feel for everyday gestures and actions, Weaver captures the psychological conditions of young individuals in particular. Weaver’s charcoal drawings play a key role in her work and are often the starting point for new paintings. Grace Weaver’s (b. 1989, Vermont, US) works have been exhibited at: Kunstpalais Erlangen (2020); Oldenburger Kunstverein (2019); James Cohan Gallery, New York (2018); Soy Capitán, Berlin and Koppe Astner, Glasgow (2017).
