Ross-Ho’s oversized, uniform-like, black trousers display empty pockets, to symbolise bankruptcy. The work can be seen to reference so-called austerity politics in Europe and the US. Amanda Ross-Ho (b. 1975, Chicago) has held solo exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland (2014); Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago (2013) and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (2012). Her work has been presented within significant group surveys at the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago and at the 2008 Whitney Biennial, New York. Ross-Ho will have a solo exhibition at Bonner Kunstverein in 2017. She lives and works in Los Angeles.
