Eidner’s Jahresgabe is part of a series of poetic works that employ language and perspective line drawings to deal with existential themes. Fragments of text are adopted as motifs to explore the pictorial quality of language, creating a form of abstraction between the image and its significance. Carolin Eidner (b. 1984, Berlin) has held exhibitions at Langen Foundation, Neuss and the Artothek Raum für junge Kunst, Cologne (2017). Her work has also been exhibited at the Bundeskunsthalle Bonn (2015); Centre for Contemporary Culture, Maastricht; Kunstverein Duisburg (2014) and Kunsthalle Baselland, Basel (2013). Her work is held in the collection of the Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich. She lives and works in Düsseldorf.
